Methodology
How we compare on wouhr.de
Explained transparently: where our watch prices come from, how often we update them, how the order is determined and how we are funded.
- Sources: Amazon, eBay and AliExpress
- Synchronised several times a day
- Last synchronisation: 18/10/2026
Specifically for watches
We compare watch offers from several shops, filter replacement straps, movement parts and accessories out of our comparison pages and show only new items there by default. Prices are updated regularly and stored as a history, so you can tell bait offers from genuine price drops. Our guides explain technology such as movements, crystal types and water resistance – we don't carry out our own product tests.
Where do the prices come from?
wouhr.de brings together offers from large marketplaces. We obtain the product data – title, image, price, retailer and, where available, ratings – automatically via the providers' official partner interfaces. We do not type in prices by hand and do not use data from unofficial sources.
The offers on wouhr.de currently come from Amazon, eBay and AliExpress (German shops).
- Amazon: via the Amazon Associates programme
- eBay: via the eBay Partner Network
- AliExpress: via the AliExpress affiliate programme
How up to date is the data?
The data is synchronised automatically: the top offers on the home page roughly every two hours, the entire product catalogue at least twice a day. Products that are no longer available are removed from the comparison; their pages remain accessible for reference but are clearly marked as no longer listed.
Since July 2026 we have been storing the synchronised prices continuously. Where there are enough data points, the product page shows the price history and a price assessment – for example, whether an offer is currently below the average of the last 30 days.
What counts is always the retailer's price at the time of your purchase. It may change between two synchronisations; shipping costs may apply depending on the retailer.
How do we sort?
The default sort order “Popular” first shows products with a current price, ordered by the customer rating at the retailer and then by the sales rank supplied by the marketplace. Alternatively, you can sort by price (ascending or descending) or by discount.
On our comparison and brand pages we hide used goods and only show watches that match the topic – selection rules such as price range or features are defined per topic.
How is the site funded?
Products linked with “To the offer” are commission links (affiliate links). If you buy through them, we receive a commission from the retailer. The price does not change for you. That is why all offers on wouhr.de are labelled as “Ad”.
The amount of commission has no influence on selection or order: only product data such as price, rating, sales rank and discount feed into the sorting. There are no paid placements.
What we don't do
We do not test products in a lab ourselves and do not award test scores. Our guides and comparison pages explain buying criteria, technology and legal matters and show you which models are available at what price – the decision is yours.
Customer ratings come from the marketplaces; we do not invent or alter ratings.
